Personal Work

As mellechant (an anagram of my name), I create illustrations and scrapbooks with vibrant colours, bold imagery and nostalgic themes. I am personally inspired by early to mid 2000s toys, characters and cartoons I grew up with such as Care Bears, Barbie and Miffy. My work incorporates a lot of loose lines and layering to create texture and breathe character.  My work can be joyful but also reflective, witty — or all three! I am inspired by my own Filipino culture as well as navigating what it means to be a Gen Z artist/designer.
